Formerly the family home of Mabel and Leslie Cheek, the 1930s estate, with its 30,000-square-foot mansion and 55 acres of gardens, today serves the public as a botanical garden, arboretum and art museum with furnished period rooms and galleries devoted to American art from the 18th to mid-20th centuries, 13 distinct gardens and a 1.5-mile woodland trail. Year-round events include seasonal festivals, internationally recognized exhibitions, wellness classes, educational workshops and other happenings geared toward visitors of all ages. Cheekwood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and nationally as a Level II Arboretum. Additionally, Cheekwood partners with 70 local organizations to ensure its education, preservation and conservation initiatives reach every corner of the community to maximize the institution’s positive impact on the region, as well as to give all individuals the opportunity to enjoy, learn, grow and celebrate its natural beauty and cultural offerings.

ECON Charities

ECON Charities is the charitable arm of the Economic Club of Nashville, a local civic and service organization that has existed to interact with, improve and impact the city of Nashville for more than a century. Through partnerships with local nonprofit organizations, ECON Charities serves to eliminate barriers for fragile families to enjoy enriching cultural experiences and create lifelong memories that have a lasting positive impact on the individuals in and strengthen our community. Proceeds from the Antiques & Garden Show help support Nashville families through ECON Charities’ two main beneficiaries: The Family Center, a 501(c)(3) organization offering evidence- and research-based programs to break intergenerational cycles of childhood trauma, and Light A Spark, a homegrown ECON initiative that facilities ECON Charities’ mission of helping to build resilient families and communities through shared cultural experiences. The Light A Spark nonprofit program covers the costs to enjoy activities from iconic Nashville organizations for economically disadvantaged families accessed through community partners like The Family Center.
